Generate reports based on the test case attributes such as Status

Currently, there is no way to generate report based on the component, test status etc (an example is listed below)

We have few test cases for Login, Registration, Shopping Bag component. We have configured Status field to include status as 'Automated', 'Automation Nomination', 'being automated'.

  • Automated: for the tests which are automated

  • Automation Nomination: for the tests which needs to be automated

  • Being automated: for the tests which are in the process of automation

Now, I would like to generate the report per component such as login / registration, however, I would like to group the test cases belonging to specific component by the statuses such as 'Automated', 'being automated' & 'automation nomination'

Output of this report will contain:

Component : Login

  • Automated Tests (count: N)

    • test 1

    • test 2

    • test N

  • Being automated (count: X)

    • test 1

    • test X

  • Automation nomination (count: Y)

    • test 1

    • test Y

Component : Registration

  • Automated Tests (count: N)

    • test 1

    • test 2

    • test N

  • Being automated (count: X)

    • test 1

    • test X

  • Automation nomination (count: Y)

    • test 1

    • test Y

Requirement:

  • user should be given a flexibility to choose from the pool of components

  • user should be given a flexibility to choose from statuses

As a... QA Manager
I would like... to group the list of test cases having specific test status
So that I... can present this report to higher management
